We need more like him. I'm a fan of Detroit's Police Chief, James Craig. If Detroit loses him the city will look like Seattle and Portland.
I was at Fort Rucker, Alabama, in 1967. We had a private charged for being AWOL 29 days during the Detroit riots. He was in Detroit. He was placed in my barracks after his hearing and was given hard labor.
My BIL, my wife's brother, was the only Detroit Police Officer injured during the riots, rest his sole. There is no direct connection between the two people but I hoped that hard labor really was hard.
