I was looking for something decent to watch on TV last night instead of the usual crap that was on, so searched my ON Demand FREE MOVIE list and saw "The Odessa File" on the Turner channel listed so I finally got to watch it. Back in the days of WWII, many movies and TV shows had themes and topics on the hatred of Nazism. I love the old b/w Sherlock Holmes adventures starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, A few of their movies were about dealing with Nazi spies. There were a few Three Stooges episodes, then shown in movie house as shorts, also with Nazi topics. I recall some vintage cartoons as well with the same anti-Nazi themes. There were no doubt many German people, and some military personnel too, who were anti-Hitler/anti-Nazism. They were no doubt scared to voice their concerns for fear of being exposed and shot by the SS. There was a Tom Cruise movie, “Valkyrie” that was based on a true story of exactly this, and a secret plot to assassinate Hitler was plotted.
