Congressional ‘Shush Fund’ payoff chart 1997-2017
written by Jeanine Martin November 21, 2017

In 1995 the Congressional Office of Compliance required Congress to make a list of the number of complaints against members of Congress and their employees for sexual harassment and other violations of employment. Congress was ordered to compile statistics, but not reveal the names of Congressmen.

The bureaucratic mandate: [C]ompile and publish statistics on the use of the Office by covered employees, including the number and type of contacts made with the Office, on the reason for such contacts, on the number of covered employees who initiated proceedings with the Office under this chapter and the result of such proceedings, and on the number of covered employees who filed a complaint, the basis for the complaint, and the action taken on the complaint..

Taxpayers pay for this ‘shush fund’, we have a right to know who was charged and what those charges were. If the acts were not committed by Congressmen, were their Congressional employees fired for committing these acts? If they were Congressmen, who were they?
