The mainstream media cannot figure out why President Donald Trump’s base won’t abandon him. And three women, two of whom are black, did their best to explain it to CBS.
Janelle Jones, Ellen Diehl and Lucretia Hughes spoke to CBS on Wednesday told CBS’s Mark Strassmann that their support has not waned.
“I don’t look at him as my pastor or my moral leader,” Jones said. “I look at him as the leader as it relates to governmental issues.”
“We are not looking for somebody charming,” Diehl added. “We are looking for a man who knows how to turn things around and he’s got a track record of turning things around.”
Diehl said she didn’t think what happened in Charlottesville was necessarily a black and white issue as much as it was a left and right issue.
“But its left fringe and right fringe,” she said.
