The further you go left geographically, the further left goes the politics. And on the smaller Islands, like mine, we are against everything.
The results. Liberals who have to act like conservatives to get votes 43, the NDP or the loonie left 41, the Greens 3. The Greens hold the balance of power.
But there's more. Comox was won by the NDP by 9 votes, but with the absentee ballots still to be counted. Comox is a Canadian Air Force Base. CFB. Quite a few of the CFB folks are overseas, so there will be a lot more votes to count.
But there's more. The guy running for the Liberals, who is 9 votes behind, is the former Commander of CFB Comox. We are about to find out if the enlisted folks, will vote for their former boss. If they do, the Liberals get a majority, and the pipe lines, and natural gas, and hydro stations are back in the game.
My Island votes loonie left. Not much I can say. We are against everything, as long as we can drive our belch mobiles, use our plastic boats, and so on.
