Here in Brazoria County (just immediately south of Harris County - Houston), our neighborhood lost power for only 12 hours last Wed. but other parts of this city of 140,000 lost power for several days Jeff. Don't know what causes it (pwr. co. can't explain), but our side of the street here that backs up to a 55 acre retention pond often loses power, sometimes for 8 hours or more. Though I should have checked into it long ago (I've been here since '74), I'm about to bite the bullet and invest in one of the automatic full home power generators that run on natural gas.
