Dodge van is a 3.3 V6 pushrod front wheel drive auto. I like the motor, and the gear box works fine. But I have been warned that the gearbox can suffer when towing. Rear springs are not that strong either.
I think the guy was thinking about the inline 6 gas motor. Ford 300.
I do not not a heavy 3/4 ton. I want a fuel efficient half ton. The Ford and other V6 gas motors around 4 liters should work. Do not need to pay a hugs amount. $5,000 should do it. Was researching Ford Ranger, but the reviews were not good. Figured someone here should have experience with a lighter truck. My closed in trailer will max at 3500 pounds, and I will add E brakes.
