Granddaughter graduated from college as a meteorologist. She is working part time at an airport as a weather observer and part time at a Kohl's clothing store. Her car (a 2017 Chevy Spark that I gave her while a student) was parked in the parking lot while she was at work and hit by a full size SUV. It was slammed into an adjacent car and then moved over 40 feet afterward.
The irony is that at 1:25pm today, while I was on the road to pick up my new Gravely mower, I heard Rush Limbaugh say that Trump was going to appear this Friday in Michigan at the Oakland County International Airport. I tried to call her about it and my call was going to her voicemail. I was driving and using my cellphone Bluetooth connection in my truck.
As my call was cancelled, I was getting a call from my son, her father. He was going on a rescue mission and filled me in on what had happened.
We were all glad that she was not in the car. I called her later to try to cheer her up.
Also, I have been paying for OnStar for her car and when I checked my e-mails after dinner, I had an OnStar report that an attempted theft had occurred at !:17pm (when the car was hit)
I have all of the monthly systems status reports since the car was new and will provide them to granddaughter and her dad for the insurance claim. A 4 year old car with only 20,000 miles. That sucks!
