That's an old episode but those neon FORD TRACTOR dealer signs (any FORD really) go for big bucks at auctions. My buddy has one in his collection. COKER Tire has one in their shop. Dennis Carpenter has one too. In all the years I watched American Pickers, I only saw one episode where they picked some Ford Tractors. I saw plenty of times they'd be in a junkyard or shop and walk right by what could be a vintage Ford. Mike is heavy on bicycles, motorcycles, and signs; Frank is heavy on toys, oil cans, and old gas pumps. They go ga-ga over vintage cars and trucks but neglect vintage tractors. Oh, well, it's their show. I wrote them a letter once asking why they don't have an interest in tractors and got no reply. They did send me an email saying they were coming to my area in a few months at an auction service. We arranged to meet where they were going to be – at the local auction house. So I met Mike & Frank, this was about twelve years ago when they came to our area. We have a little mom & pop grocery store here in our small town. There’s just the store, a bump shop, a machine shop, a pizza place, a Post Office, and an auction house. The auction house is owned and run by one of the sons. There is an old large barn, outbuildings, and front office building where he stores his salvaged items. The guys had been arranged by Danielle to come see a Model A he had for sale. The spent several hours looking at the car and going thru the other stored items. I got to meet them, and asked about why no tractors. Mike said they do get some once in a while but don’t know much about the vintage tractors and leave them up to the guys who do like MECUM. They are very pleasant and cool guys. Gave me autographed pictures.
