The late Dave Schafer estate is auctioning off his things, including his early and late '39 9Ns. Dave owned s/n 9N-179, the tractor that was given to his dad by Henry Ford himself the day Dave was born as his dad worked for Henry Ford on his farms in Dearborn. Dave restored it is mostly all original. Dave & Pat, his wife, also owned s/n 9N-9917, a tractor Dave happened upon one day while driving through town. It was setting alongside a main road with a For Sale sign on it. When Dave inspected the serial number he saw the 4-digit number and knew it was '39 model. later he found out it was one of the last units built in 1939, probably on the last day of production or close to it. That was his boasting/bragging rite when he and Pat had them on display at shows -that they owned one of the first 1939 9N's built and one of the last 1939 9N's built. Rest In Peace, Dave. I hope it goes for a good price and to a good home. You won't find many better than that.
