Reminds me of a 1959 Chevy 283 V8 we tore apart back in 1963. The short stud [1.5"?] that holds the air cleaner on had dropped into the carb and found its way into one of the cylinders. It beat up that piston pretty well, then got knocked back into the intake manifold, traveled to the other side of the engine where we found it embedded in that piston. We had to junk the heads because, after resurfacing, they would warp when the engine warmed up and lose compression.
