Need to change the anode rod.
Most water heater manufacturers will give you the other one that you need if you just got a new one.
The other issue would be sulfur gas in the water, but that would not just show up as a new issue. It would show up as soon as the well is drilled.
The way to get rid of sulfur gas is to inject air into the inlet pipe with a venturi and then bleed it back out in the bladder tank. the bad smell goes with the air.
