With my disability I have not been in my shop since February, good news is I can use a walker and make it to my dinning room table. I rebuild distributors as a hobby so I have moved the tooling I need to work on them. Not happy with the way I test them though.
This does not tell me if the condenser or coil are good. Or if it will deliver a good hot spark. So lately I have been working on a rig to test everything.
Using as many stock parts as possible I came up with this. I can turn it with a crank handle or remove it and turn it with a cordless drill. This will allow me to test for a good hot spark at the plug and also run it for a period of time to see if the condenser or coil will overheat or fail.
I was working on the electrical side of it when the smoke made my COPD flair up and I had to stop. Plan to run it with a 500 watt 12 volt dc power supply when I catch my breath again LOL.
