My best guess before tear down was timing chain issue, but no sign of any cover damage or even guide wear. The chains were both still snug, so now I don't know. Not sure I can tell piston slap from stuck cam follower from rod knock. My engine noise was sometimes on cold start, but not always. On hot or cold engine it was during acceleration & above 1000rpm.
