4.6 timing set progress

With my daughter coming in for the holidays plus the weather I just got back to the F150 repairs. I decided with the front off the engine to go ahead & replace the oil pump too. The pump's pickup tube cap screws were a bit tricky without dropping the pan, but I managed. The new chains, sprockets, guides, & tensioners went on smoothly. The front cover is back on now, but here's a few pics before the cover....

I still don't see anything obvious that caused my engine noise. That was partly why I went ahead with the oil pump, hoping low pressure from the worn pump was starving the right side just enough to cause the noise without causing a permanent problem. I can't think of any way to know except to put things back together.
