All of our ancestors back then came to this country legally. By the Naturalization Act of 1790 they had to have been here two years before they could become citizens. I have the document where my Grandfather renounced the Prussian king and became a citizen. My Great Grandfather disappeared from records within four years of buying the farm in Iowa in 1846. I do not have any papers on him.
