I have not hunted anything (except tractors and toy trains) since I was a teenager. We have always had deer around us. A couple years ago we even had a couple of weened twin fawns resting in the front yard after eating while mama stayed away.
Lately we have a pair of young deer wandering across the yard on occassion. I saw some fresh tracks of two deer in an early snow yesterday as I was leaving to go to my McD coffee meeting at 6:00am. My wife said she saw them just after noon by our neighbors house crossing the street to behind our property.
We have a 400 acre partially wooded county park next to us and behind us along with the 11 acres, partially wooded, that I sold since 2013. Makes for good dear habitat.
One of my back yard oaks had an abundant crop of acorns on the ground and 2 deer spent an hour 25 feet from the house having a picnic at lunch time.
