The rolling condo has been moved. The RC is a large fifth wheel trailer that weighs about 8,800 pounds. The belch mobile, Greeny my 78 Chev 3/4 ton, has a goose neck hitch.
I checked my firewood pile and found a solid piece of balsam, 16 inch diameter.
I backed Greeny under the RC to check the height for the hitch. Also 16 inches. I made a 4 inch deep hole for the goose neck ball, and a 3 inch deep hole for the trailer hitch part. Plunked the wood/log on top of the ball, and braced it in all directions with 6 X 2. Backed it under and dropped the trailer on top, and took a lunch break, and it started raining. The RC needed to go backwards up a slight rise on grass. We had just enough traction, and after a bunch of going back and forth, the RC is now in its new spot, and I have a clear area to start work on the new cottage. Still raining and there is no way I could have moved it any later than I did. Unless I used chains.
