Since my 2-year odyssey to solve the overheating problem with my F150 has concluded I decided to look into a nuisance(somewhat related)issue with the Expedition. Ever since the last time I had the transmission serviced the upper cooler fitting has been seeping fluid. I let them do the pump version of changing the trans fluid & they hook up the pump at the upper cooler fitting. It's not enough to drip on the ground, but over time it has made a mess from fluid & dust drizzling down that end of the radiator & the components below.

The flare fitting is nice & tight, maybe too tight, but I can't back it out to check the oring without the larger fitting backing out. To get a wrench on the larger fitting the fan & shroud has to be pulled out, etc. Did all that yesterday & found no reason for the seepage. :-(

I went ahead & changed the oring, so I guess we'll see if it starts seeping again. BTW, the old oring was difficult to snag & get out of there.
