I'm working on the photo angle. I have also flown in a B-17 and also a B-24 and B-25. I grew up near Willow Run Airport and after the war some local businessmen acquired a B-24 for display. It sat on a busy corner with snow fence around it for several years and became a nuisence. It was just a block from our house and across the street from my elementary school. Older kids knocked down the fence and scavenged parts off the plane. As a 5 or 6 year old, I could just climb inside. It was later scraped.
I'm a charter member of the Yankee Air Museum (originally Yankee Air Force) since 1981, member number 465. We do not have a B-24.
Our air show, "Thunder Over Michigan" is Aug 25 and 26. I'm a volunteer working the show, set-up and tear-down.
