My wife and I are in our mid-70's and have Medicare parts A and B. We have a supplmental coverage through United Health Care. We also pay for Delta Dental. Our glasses are out of pocket except when having catarac surgery. Medicare pays part of new glasses. We have no hearing aid coverage and we both wear hearing aids.
We chose traditional because: 1. we kept our doctors 2. we can go to any specialists we chose who will accept Medicare. No pre-approvals or required referals from a primary care doctor.
C is like an HMO or PPO. You get the same as parts A and B but you are covered by a private network and must stay within that network of providers.
D is drugs (legal).
You have to decide which situation works best for you. Don't try to read the Medicare book cover to cover. Read a section and get a feel for it.
If you have benefits from an employer, talk to your benefits rep or union benefits rep.
After you have gone through that I will tell you what our monthly premiums cost us
