It will not run if it is sucking air, or air has got in the lines. First make sure there are not leaks from the tank to the injectors. If it has a decrompresion lever, use it. Crank the engine over. Follow the fuel pump to the exit line, probably goes to the second filter. Open the relief screw on top. Fuel should come out, then close it. You should now have raw fuel from the tank, past the big filter, past the fuel pump to the small filter. All that is left is the lines to the injectors. Some diesels like to be bled at the injector. If it does not fire, then bleed each injector. Often if you get one or more piston firing the other pistons will fire soon as the air gets pumped through. You unit may differ a bit, but that is the basic figure out how it is done.
