When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. That old adage says it all. A person who wants to commit a crime or other act of violence will acquire a weapon by any means, legally or illegally, serial number or filed off, background checks or not. The 911 hijackers with box cutters are a good example and Chicago gangsters of the 30's as well. there have been attempts by pro-gun supporters and politicians in the past to make some changes, but guess what? The votes needed to pass were held up by Pelosi and the DEMS! Banning guns is not the answer -it's not the guns, once again. Look at all the cities and nations that have already tried that. The US department of education needs to require every teacher and/or employee to undergo firearm training and safety by qualified NRA instructors and law enforcement agencies, then they would be allowed to open carry in a public school and have some self defense if an event should then be attempted. Notice too that not much is ever said about Hollywood promoting violence with their shoot-em-up movies constantly being put out there. Then moist of those people, actors, producers et al turn around and publicly spew out that we nee more anti-gun laws when a massacre occurs. Toss in the violent video games that consume many of todays kids time and money as well. Hypocrites. On the day of the recent shootings, I caught no less than a half dozen politicians and 'news' people, all DEMS by the way, using the term 'automatic weapon' long before any weapon was positively identified. An AR15 is a semi-automatic and all fully automatics are already illegal. The solution may not be the complete answer because, as I first said, a person will find a way to commit a crime no matter what, but arming our school employees is one good start. Why don't the liberals see this? Why don't they at least give it a try?
