As we have not seen any of the details on the preparation of the car for it's journey,
we can only guess. If you read all the comments below, they got a bit humorous. I would "suspect" that no lead-acid batteries are present nor any large battery pack necessary to drive the car. Just guessing as a weight thing. There may be some batteries that can play the radio or at least send signals to the support team.
I don't know if that launch ignited the interest that was created when Russia launched Sputnik 1, October 4, 1957. Still, I think in the least, it is humorous. Opinions will vary.
