This just gets better and better, these stories are great.
In high school I drove a maroon 1970 Torino fastback with black sport slats. Thank the lord it had a 351 2 barrel and not 4 barrel or I probably would not be here today. Talk about love, The best part about that car was that it had a bench seat front seat and NOT bucket seats.
My dad bought it brand new in 1970 when the ford dealer offered him a deal. To this day I cannot believe that my dad bought that car with two teen age sons just driving, but it worked out ok. I actually took good care of that car and even though it was not actually my car, I would still love to have it today. My dad offered it to me when he sold it in 1985, but I was too stupid and busy to take him up on it at the time. Like I said, we all make decisions that we regret.
The 70's had to be the greatest decade of all time. But I will bet the guys that drove through the 60's will disagree. lol
