Thank you for that Steve. It was a bit like reading an article in Scientific America. If the conclusion is, these things are darn cold in the winter, then I agree. I have been whining when it gets to around 32F. And I have systems to stay warm. Dave#1 must be running his propane furnace fairly steady.
Another Dave here on my Island, froze his water pipes the other night, right when his missus was taking a shower. We are back in the mid 30s at the moment.
My new cottage will be 24 X 18 and two floors, with lots of insulation everywhere.
We can not rely on electricity as it goes off fairly often. I will install a propane heater in the new place.I have a couple of windows cracked a teensy bit to get some fresh air in. The mattress warmer is the greatest thing since pockets.
