It is the 30TC necked to .264 also known as 6.5MM. The case is slightly larger than a 250 Savage case and slightly smaller than a 308 case. The case size is about optimum for the bore size and the 6.5 bullet is quite efficient at cutting through the air. At 500 yards the bullet from the Creedmoor will often exceed the speed of a bullet of another caliber that started out a few hundred feet faster.
So, it is an easily shootable cartridge due to low recoil and has higher down range energy than many higher recoil cartridges. I too question whether it will last. It is slower than the 260 Remington, but more efficient and inherently more accurate. The 260 has a following, but the round has never gained popularity. It uses the 308 ccase.
