It isn't 'everyone' just PhotoBucket. Back in June they changed from a 'free picture hosting site' to one that now wants a $400 per year fee to allow 3rd party image sharing. It appears that even though they tried sponsors who had annoying pop-up ads constantly to fund their services, it wasn't enough and thus they now are no longer free to share. Since many of us used them, our pictures now show up with PB icon/clock-type message saying to upgrade. I don't know of anyone foolish enough to pay that kind of money out of their own pocket but maybe some get their companies to foot the bill. Oh they still offer 'free account to store images, but you can't share unless you 'upgrade' your account and pay up. What's the point? Why store images there when one can store them on their own PC hard drive, flash drive, CD, DVD, or disc drive? Further insult is that at first many were going into their accounts and downloading their entire albums and moving out. Once PB detected this mass exodus, they put the kibosh on entire album downloading, only allowing one to download pictures singly one at a time. Because that is tedious time consuming operation, most will opt not to do that and they know this. At first some of us contacted them to inquire about the SNAFU and their response was, "...we are aware of a technical glitch and the issue is being investigated...". Yeah, by whom, a group of hamsters? The issue still exists as I tried again yesterday with the same results. Like Farmer Dan said, some of us have went over to IMGUR now, but they too have hinted they may soon go with a fee-charging service. there are other alternatives, so here is an older LINK to part of that conversation...
