The best news of the day (today) so far, is that the storm has moved quite a ways to the east out in the Gulf and rains should subside altogether by late tonight allowing most of the flood waters in this area to begin receding.

Sadly for the folks next door in LA, the storm is now predicted to make landfall somewhere between the TX border and Baton Rouge and then make its way up through the TN valley area and on beyond - unless Harvey peter's out altogether after making landfall, you folks up that direction can expect some very heavy duty rainfall. The entire area of southeast Texas has reportedly received right at 50" of rain since the storm hit shore late Fri. night and it's still raining here now, but now much lighter than the past 3 1/2 days. The nightmare here is going to be the costly and lengthy recovery!
