The brain is tired as I have been working an early morning split shift routine this week. Normal returns soon. Just not today. Me? I would goggle or U-Tube the 360 timing chain for installation. Find an oil pump prime tool and pressurize the oil system before installation if possible. This should also help to get the hyd lifters up to snuff before installation. Chances are priming and rotating engine should be done at the same time. This gets everything working, lifters pumped up, etc, and gives you knowledge it will work before installing.
Small block chev has donated a dist in the past for me with a stud welded to the top and the cam gear ground down. Connect a drill and have a spinning good time.
The chev engine needs the lifter galley sealed so it will get pressurized.
