Craigslist can be entertaining waiting for the no shows. I have my own game I play with silly people. I had a brush hog for sale once. I think it was listed for $400.
One guy was headed out to have a look and another guy called offering more money. First guy showed up, made his low ball offer and I counter offered with the higher amount. He balked, got red and dang near ran off, I called the second guy and shortly after it was gone.
Next time a guy calls on an item and we talk...Shortly later he calls again and I get his name wrong intentionally, "Oh, Bob! I thought this was Dan..."
Now Bob thinks that Dan is going to beat him out to a good deal.
Items are brought to the front of the property. I don't need you walking all over scouting out other items. KMA.
If I get a few calls before the first guy shows up, I get pretty firm on price real quick. If the first guy shows up and low balls it, go chase yourself mac.
Season makes a difference also. A tractor in spring is worth more that a tractor in winter. Paint helps a lot. People buy shiny. Shiny sells real good. Red is shiny. Wanna sell that Ford tractor? Paint it backwards like a fergy with red sheet metal.
Yep. Craigslist can be entertaining. . . .
