That question is a complete mystery. The center section is definitely NOT the same as the 8N. I have both an 8N rear section and an NAA center section laying around. The biggest difference is the 8N casting has a big square hole in the bottom where the hydraulic pump goes. The NAA just has a 3/4" (estimate) drain plug in a solid cast iron bottom. The right inspection plate on the NAA is smaller and held on with just 4 bolts. The 8N inspection plate is larger and has 6 bolts to hold it on. So why keep the lugs? Some things just can't be explained!
