The conversion to an oil line to the governor was apparently a "strongly recommended" upgrade when your tractor arrived in the Ford Dealer's shop. I have seen, and owned, 39's, 40's and 41's with the governor line added. Mint original cast iron no-line governors are scarce. I have even seen them where original governors were placed on a drill press and drilled and tapped for the oil line.
That said, I own a couple of early N's that have made it through all these years without the added oil line to the governor. Go figure.
I agree with Gaspump - by '42 the line went to the governor.
