Rick...Steiner carries the filter & gasket for the smaller bowls, but I wonder if they will seal up to your old assembly. From your post it sounds like your old bowl assembly is made for the 8N-type of bowl.
I had to find a new bowl assembly(it was missing)to fit up to my 860's carb. The only ones available had the narrow bowl, but there are 2 versions of the body for early & late models.
