Ford produced the 4-cylinder motor for commercial purposes but I think these would have had a different serial number. Ford always used up all of their stock of parts. The engines are the same on all the models and the production of blocks would have happened without pause for the change from 2n to 8n. If your 8n has a 9n engine in it then it would have come out of a 9n at some point.
