You never can tell much by appearance after they have been sitting neglected for years. I have seen them winched out of swamps where the compression was good and nothing really wrong and I had them running again in a day or so.
You will have fun putting the old girl right.
Do some archive searches under "stuck clutch". Guys have come up with several different ideas to unstick them.
