dog legs

I have a mid year all. dash Ford 40 9N, did dog legs come from factory with dimples for lights or smooth. I see on Smith site the 42 has two bolts, what is original as it came out of factory bolts, smooth or dimples in case you want to install lights. Would like to be as original as possible without going overboard. Only have one Hall light at the moment waiting to find a second at a affordable price just in case I don't find a second one.Tx. Bob
