Hi again Don and folks ! I got curious about this chrome-copper-nickel and different plating technique so I Googled it to see what came up. I found this article in Wikipedia and found it really interesting. If you scroll down the page to Automotive uses you'll find a paragraph where it says prior to the application of chrome in the 1920's nickel was used. It's a good read and lots of links to other info.
