Theoretically, ordinary silver paint shouldn't hold up if it really gets hot in the lamp. On the other hand, there are high temp paints/manifold coatings that are sold by folks like Eastwood. Some of these require baking in an oven (your kitchen oven should work) to cure. I don't know for certain if silver is available, but it must be. You may want to email or call Marv Baumann. As you know, he is famous for his show tractors with everything up to and including a small turbine in them. Marv likes "shiney" tractors - lots of chrome - maybe he would have some ideas.
