Dad hit the starter today on the '51. Cranks over good, but no spark. This is our first foray into the world of Pertronix ignition, so the learning curve might be a bit steep. I had this points replacement set left over from another guy's mechanical restoration (it was a '60-something Workmaster) so I had the bright idea that we'd make this tractor solid state electronic ignition. Don't know if 1) the unit is compatible although it bolted right up (doesn't look from the casual look that the distributors are very different between the side mount N and the Workmaster) or 2) if we have it hooked up right, although following the Pertronix instructions seemed pretty straightforward. Got power to the coil with the switch on, but ain't jumping no spark either from the coil or distributor, so Dad had some wiring to look over, and some test lighting to do tomorrow.
