If you ever use a grinder, sander, wire brush, compressed air to clean dust, or sweep a barn floor, and you breath while you work, use a respirator. Get a box of 10 throw-aways (not the 'comfort masks'--get the ones with a metal strip). And get a good OSHA-approved face mask for when you spray paint, etc.
Also, get work gloves if you ever hammer on metal, i.e. a cold chisel. Steel chips fly as fast as bullets.
Don't leave ethelene glycol (antifreeze) where cats and dogs can drink it.
