Run a separate ground wire (14 gauge will work) from the mounting stud of the lamp (probably a 1/4 x 20 stud) to any one of the bolts on the transmission cover housing and before re-tightening that bolt, make sure the surface is clean (to the metal) and free of paint, grease, oils, etc.
