I have an early 9N and an early 8N, both have never seen a 12V battery nor alternator. The lighting kits are original, 2 CM HALL headlights and a TAURUS taillight on the 9N; 2 T-O-L headlights, a TAURUS tail, and a T-O-L Implement lamp on the 8N, ALL 6V,all wired as original, and I have never had a problem with them. It seems most lighting issues I read about are guys with 12V switch-over jobs. It is usual SOP with 12V to run two wires to each lamp, a + and a -.
