1952 late model 8N. I have the starter out following Bruc's advise as always. My tractor already has the enlarged spot at 2:00 and I expect it was done at the factory. Bendix teeth look fine but something is amiss for sure. Farmerized at the end of the shaft with a bolt shank through the hole in the shaft and held there by a twisted wire. There is a large washer between spring affair and the starter body and another part loose there. Adding photos. I want it absolutely correct when I reinstall. I expect I will be buying new parts? I will also have my local starter guy rebuild it when it is off. Ideas and comments welcomed.
