HiYa Dan-
Hope the gall bladder surgery went well. Ask for Donna, the young blonde RN to give you that sponge bath ...; > )

The March 15, 1940 MPC lists the headlight wings, part numbers 9N-13472 -RH; and 9N-13473 -LH so they were available before '41. Before the first year, 1939, was out, engineers came up with a lighting kit (CM HALL)to meet the demands of their new customers. That was part of the problem with the small generator -it couldn't keep up the charge when lights were used. Engineers scrambled to compensate by changing the generator, several times in fact but that is another story. The early smooth doglegs, both aluminum and steel had no punch outs for the lights. Unsure when they were added. The early 9N wings, sometimes listed as 'medallions' in parts manuals, were made of cast iron. they were soon changed to zinc and had two different bolt sizes to secure to dogleg panel. One was 1/4-28 and the other was 5/16-24. The bolt sizes may have been changed when the change to zinc occurred. I'll need to look into this more...
