Could be the timing off a little bit, could be that new carb ain't adjusted right. Could be the fuel filter in the tank clogged. Could be the vent in the gas tank plugged. Take the plug out of the bottom of the carb and let it run into a clear jug for a few minutes. See if it slows down or has dirt in it. If the fuel flows ok then clean and adjust the points and redo the timing.
