Good Day All,
Have the NAA outside the shop, almost completely assembled and running pretty good for the most part. Just need to adjust the front end toe in, ignition and carb, get the lights running and install my lift cover. Double checking my lift cover now and have a few questions. I have the adjustments made for lift control and draft control. However, in draft position when I get the quadrant control about half way up from the full down position the control valve bottoms out and the quadrant control lever jams a little. I can pull it through this area as the draft control spring just compresses. My question here is, is this normal. The quadrant control lever moves pretty smoothly everywhere except at this point. I can see what is happening as I have the lift cover on a stand on my bench and can see the linkage moving as I operate the levers.
Secondly, should I be able to get the lift arms moving with compressed air from my shop compressor. I only have about 130 lbs of air. When I apply it to the port on the flange of the lift cover the air just exits the unloading valve port in the valve body no matter where I put the control levers.
These questions are a result me doing a final check before lift cover install. Keep in mind I have never seen a lift cover or hydraulic system before and the one on this NAA was composed mostly of missing, bent and broken parts.
Appreciate any ideas, opinions offered.
