I bought my first 8N because I needed a tractor on my 10 acres & I wanted one that was old enough for me to work on. I soon discovered that they were a lot of fun to restore because they have no interiors & very little sheet metal!
As to street legal, that would be a local PD question. But, when you ask, make sure you tell them it it a tractor used in farming. It's not a toy like a golf cart. As an agriculture implement, chances are all you will need is a SMV triangle.
