On this model, the (Dearborn) it just changes the pitch of the blade, makes the cutting edge of the blade dig harder or less(fore & aft) & keeps it from going to deep when lift is all the way down. A later model Ford blade we have with the tail wheel actually adjust the blade cutting height which helps make a driveway or dirt lot more even & uniform. Hope I didn't confuse you on my trying to explain, if you where here in front of me & the piece of equipment I could explain better with my hands pointing & showing you, you know how people use there hand to talk with!
