Hello All-
I'm Jason, from Michigan, and just recently bought my first tractor; a '43 Ford 9N.
I have a question about tuning the carb and throttle. It SEEMS to me that the engine is running a bit too fast with the throttle closed. When I put it into 1st gear, standard range (I have a step-up transmission) it sure wants to go. And way faster than my father's John Deere B. That may be a bad comparison, but it's all I know. Anyway...
Before I start monkeying with the carb, I want to put a tachometer on it to see how fast it's running at idle. Since it's a 9N and there is no tach or even a proofcable port on the governor, I was wondering if something like this would work.

Has anyone used a digital tach with success? What one did you use?
Thanks for the help and information!!
